Overview

One of five mineral assets in Xstreco's Peruvian portfolio, reactivated under our staged development programme. Rumichaca lies in Leoncio Prado province, Huanuco department, reached from Lima by the Carretera Central through Tingo Maria. The operating permits required to move into production have been granted, and the property sits in our near-term precious-metals pipeline. Relations with the communities around the property are good, and detailed engagement is being taken forward as part of the next phase of work.

How activities are assessed

Work programme

The geological setting of the property and the exploration programmes completed on it.

Geological setting

Rumichaca lies in a valley on the western flank of the Eastern Cordillera of central Peru, in the transitional zone between the Andes and the rainforest. The ground is made up of river and lake terraces, grading upward from fine sediments into coarser material. The property is an alluvial placer gold occurrence with a source close by.

Work completed

Two campaigns have been carried out. A geological and geochemical field programme in 2024 sampled the terraces and the active river deposits and identified an anomalous zone. A test pit programme followed in 2025, with pits hand-excavated across the anomalous sectors, which identified the principal gold-bearing horizon. Technical work to date covers part of the licensed area.
