Cookies policy
How this website uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can refuse them.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage and pixels, work in comparable ways. They are used to make a site work, to remember settings, and in some cases to collect information about how a site is used.
The position under Swiss law
Xstreco AG is domiciled in Switzerland. Under Article 45c of the Telecommunications Act, information may be stored on your device and read from it where we tell you that this is happening and why, and where we tell you how you can refuse it. The revised Federal Act on Data Protection applies in addition, where the information involved is personal data. Where a technology is not necessary for the site to work, we give you a way to refuse it, and refusing is as straightforward as accepting. Where a use of cookies would be unexpected, high risk or would involve particularly sensitive data, we ask for your consent before it starts.
The categories we use
Strictly necessary. These are needed for the site to work and for it to remain secure. They include information set by our hosting platform in order to deliver pages and keep sessions consistent, and information set by the service that protects our forms against automated abuse. Without them, the site and its forms would not function properly.
Preference. This site stores no preference information on your device. The language version you see is determined by the address of the page you are viewing, not by anything saved in your browser.
Advertising and tracking. We do not use cookies for advertising, for cross-site tracking or for profiling.
Third-party content
Pages that show the operating footprint map load mapping libraries and map tiles from third-party providers. Making those requests discloses your IP address and the technical data your browser sends to the providers concerned. Those providers receive that data as independent controllers rather than on our instructions, and they are not covered by the service provider arrangements described in our privacy policy. We do not use them to set cookies or to track you. We keep this arrangement under review, including whether these resources should be served from our own domain.
How to refuse or delete cookies
You can set your browser to refuse cookies, to delete cookies that have already been stored, or to warn you before one is stored. Browsers differ, and the help function of your browser will explain the options available. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of this site may not work as intended.
There is no consent or preference control on this site, because the only cookie in use is strictly necessary. If such a control is added later, this page will describe it and give the link that reopens it, so that a choice can be changed or withdrawn at any time.
Personal data
Where information collected through cookies is personal data, our privacy policy explains how we handle it and what rights you have.
