Overview
One of five mineral assets in Xstreco's Peruvian portfolio and part of our precious-metals pipeline. Tincopalca lies at an average 3,820 metres above sea level in Castrovirreyna province, Huancavelica department, further south than the rest of the portfolio, reached from the coast through Chincha Alta then inland to Huachos, the final approach on a bridle path. The operating permits required to move into production have been granted.
Location
Huancavelica
By-products
Copper
Access
Via the Panamericana Sur to Chincha Alta, then Carretera 26 to Huachos, approximately 95 km, and a final 2 km on a bridle path
Permits and approvals

How activities are assessedWork programme
The geological setting of the property and the exploration programmes completed on it.
Geological setting
Tincopalca lies in a mineralised belt on the western flank of the Andes in southern central Peru. The property is underlain by a volcanic sequence, with sedimentary and intrusive rocks nearby, and mineralisation in the belt is structurally controlled.
Work completed
Three programmes were completed in 2024: reconnaissance rock sampling, a ground induced polarisation and resistivity survey, and a coincident ground magnetic survey. The geophysical work identified chargeability anomalies and proposed drill targets. The anomalies remain open, and the contractor recommends extending the survey.
Xstreco is privately held and is under no obligation to publish mineral resource or mineral reserve information. No resource, reserve or production figure is published on this page. Detailed technical information is available to qualified parties on request.
Working responsibly
A single framework of our Group requirements applies to every activity on this property.
How we work with communities
Our assets sit in settings where farming, pasture and settlement long precede mining. Engagement is with people already living on the ground.
Engagement continues for the life of the activity and through its closure.
Our approach to communitiesNews and notices
Updates relating to this asset, most recent first.
Xstreco completed the engineering definition, the plant configuration and the cost planning for small scale pilot production at the Tincopalca property in March 2026. The property holds the operating permits required to move into production.
A ground induced polarisation, resistivity and magnetometry survey was completed at the Tincopalca property between September and October 2024, and proposed positions for future drill testing.
A reconnaissance rock sampling programme was completed across the Tincopalca property and reported by a commercial testing laboratory in July 2024.
An evaluation of the Tincopalca property completed in 2007 mapped the local geology and altered zones along a faulted contact, and took a reconnaissance sample suite.
