Ownership

Figures describe the licensed ground and the stage of technical work completed on it. No mineral resource or reserve has been declared for this asset. No joint venture, streaming or private royalty interest in this asset is held by any third party.

Overview

One of five mineral assets in Xstreco's Peruvian portfolio, reactivated under our staged development programme. Antioquia sits at an average 1,600 metres above sea level in hillside terrain east of Lima, reached by the Carretera Central through Chaclacayo. Surface and underground exploration work has been carried out, including an exploration adit driven in 2023 toward a projected vein. The vein is interpreted to continue beyond the current face, and the adit is retained as direct underground access for the next phase of work. Relations with the communities around the property are good, and the formal engagement programme is scheduled as part of the next phase of work.

Location

Cieneguilla, Chaclacayo and Antioquia districts, Lima and Huarochiri provinces, Lima department

By-products

Precious metals

Access

Approximately 60 km and around 2 hours from Lima via the Carretera Central and the California turnoff, with a final section on an unmade track

Permits and approvals

The property is at the environmental permit application stage for the next phase of work. Development and production activity follow the grant of the relevant instrument.

How activities are assessed

Work programme

The geological setting of the property and the exploration programmes completed on it.

Geological setting

Antioquia sits in the pre-Andean foothills of central Peru, on the tonalite, granodiorite and diorite of the Coastal Batholith. Quartz veins with associated alteration cross the centre of the property, and a second fault set follows the regional Andean grain. Much of the ground is masked by sand and colluvium weathered from the batholith itself.

Work completed

Three programmes have been completed. Geological mapping and surface sampling in 2022 covered mapped vein and fault structures across the central sector. An exploration adit was driven in 2023 toward a projected vein, and the target is interpreted to continue beyond the current face. The adit is stable and accessible, and it gives direct underground access for survey, underground mapping, sampling and short drilling toward the projected position. A ground induced polarisation, resistivity and magnetic survey followed in 2024 over the central sector, and identified chargeability anomalies.

Programme type
Coverage in general terms
Year
Geological mapping and reconnaissance
Central sector of the property; mapped vein and fault structures, some of them outside the concession
2022
Rock chip and channel geochemical sampling
Referential samples taken across the mapped structures
2022
Underground exploration adit
One drive toward the projected vein; the adit is retained as access for further work
2023
Induced polarisation and resistivity, three-dimensional
Survey grid across the central sector
2024
Ground magnetics
Coincident with the induced polarisation grid

How we work with communities

Our assets sit in settings where farming, pasture and settlement long precede mining. Engagement is with people already living on the ground.

Engagement continues for the life of the activity and through its closure.

News and notices

Updates relating to this asset, most recent first.

April 7, 2024
Antioquia: ground geophysical survey completed

A ground induced polarisation, resistivity and magnetometry survey was completed over the central sector of the Antioquia property in March 2024.

September 30, 2023
Antioquia: underground exploration adit completed

An exploration adit was driven at the Antioquia property in 2023 and is retained as underground access for further work. The projected vein position is interpreted to lie beyond the current face and is a target for the next phase.

November 30, 2022
Antioquia: surface mapping and sampling programme completed

A geological and mining reconnaissance of the Antioquia property, covering surface mapping and rock chip and channel sampling across the central sector, was reported in November 2022.

May 5, 2021
Antioquia: first rock sample assay programme completed

A first suite of reconnaissance rock samples from the Antioquia property was analysed by an accredited commercial testing laboratory in Lima and reported in May 2021.
